Home away from home

Samaritan Residential Schools live upto its name “Samaritan”. It’s indeed a “Home away from home” for us. Samaritan has touched my heart and soul in such a way that those days in Samaritan will remain as one of my most beautiful portion of my life. I give my full credit to Samaritan for the success I am enjoying today. I moulded myself following my teachers and friends. At the beginning, it was a very difficult task to shed my old habits and to bring myself upto the Samaritan standards. But today when I look back, I am really thankful to Samaritan.

I still remember one incident during my public exam (XII Std) period, there was an outbreak of Conjunctivitis and there was a lady teacher called Geetha, who used to prepare a paste with “Neem Leaves” and she used to wait outside our dormitory with a cup of butter milk for everybody. It was compulsory for all of us to swallow the Neem paste and drink the “more” before we go out for our early morning study at 4 o’clock.

My second incident was about Mr. Barnabas. Once one of my friends called Hmuna, was coughing while studying, and there Mr. Barnabas came out with a big bottle of cough syrup bottle and a big spoon. The bottle was so big that while looking it, we got scared. Now, Hmuna had to drink the syrup. It was really a very hilarious day; we caught Hmuna and fed him the syrup, laughing throughout the time. Vaah!!! Those were the days… These types of instances made me to feel like a real home. I really miss those days.

Well, being a part of Samaritan was full of enjoyment and studies at the right place and time. I learnt lots and lots of lessons with those moral science classes. Rules were very strict and we had to follow it perfectly. Our batch came out with flying colors in public exams and got a cent percent pass percentage, with 80% of us got first class with distinction and only 20% got second class. None got third division or failed. What more we could have asked from Samaritan? It was the most perfect era of my life and till today, remembering my days at Samaritan bring a smile on my face.

THANKS & REGARDS,
