Requirements of a Samaritan Employee/Volunteer:

  • Experience and/or willingness to work in an independent school setting with boarding students.
  • Be a positive role model,
  • Develop supportive relationships with students,
  • Set clear and consistent limits with students,
  • Adhere to all school policies and regulations.
  • Strong in classroom and student management.
  • Must be available to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
  • Must present a professional, well groomed appearance (no facial hair, proper hair length, proper, professional, and adequate clothing, etc.) at all times

Responsibilities of a Samaritan Teaching Employee/Volunteer:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of subject(s) through instructional practice
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of learning goals
  • Use assessment information to provide students with feedback, which is corrective and informative.
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior conducive to an effective learning environment
  • Plan, organize, create and develop written lesson plans in advance that meet the needs of all educational levels of students
  • Direct and supervise the work of students assigned to the classroom
  • Maintain productive lines of communication with students, parents, and colleagues concerning both the academic and social progress of all students
  • Implement administrative directives in a professional manner

Minimum Qualifications for a Samaritan Teaching Employee/Volunteer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the related content area, Masters preferred
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred

Administrative Assistant/Secretary
Duties include receptionist, receive/make calls, maintain central office and personnel files, billing, reports, assist with payroll, accounts payable, purchase orders, budgeting, and audits.
Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality, attention to detail, proficient skills in Microsoft Office/ computerized systems and strong written, mathematics, communication and organizational skills
